Meet the Gentle Jesus through new First Communion program

Children preparing for their first Eucharist are invited to “Meet the Gentle Jesus” in our latest publications, which include books for children, catechists and families along with other important complementary titles.

Written in the engaging pastoral style of the Redemptorists, our new Meet the Gentle Jesus: First Communion preparation program introduces the Mass and the sacrament in ways that inspire youngsters to take a lifelong journey of knowing and loving Jesus, and to become missionary disciples.

Meet the Gentle Jesus: First Communion is a complete curriculum and it is in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The components are:

The eight lessons of First Communion for Children include understanding of God’s holy family, God’s house, His mercy, the Word, the meal, Jesus’ sacrifice, gathering, and going forth in service.  

Every chapter includes an opening and a closing prayer, Bible stories, reflection questions, and emphasis on children sharing the faith lessons in their home and community through activities that reinforce the topics.

The charming, colorful illustrations by renowned artist Jeff Albrecht engage children and help make the doctrine understandable to them. The book includes a complete glossary.
