Archdiocese of St. Louis Welcomes National Eucharistic Pilgrimage
|
Pilgrims on the St. Junipero Serra Route, one of four routes of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, worked their way through the St. Louis area over the July Fourth holiday weekend, on their way to the 10th National Eucharistic Congress to be held in Indianapolis later this month. Catholics welcomed the pilgrims July 5-7, joining them in prayer, Adoration, processions and receptions held at several parishes throughout the area. On Sunday, Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski presided over a standing-room-only Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. After Mass there was a Eucharistic procession to St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish, followed by a reception before the pilgrims left the area to continue their journey east. The 10th National Eucharistic Congress, to be held July 17-21 in Indianapolis, is set to be the culmination of a three year National Eucharistic Revival focused on reigniting hearts in devotion to and belief in the truth of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. |
