Liguori Books Selected as Finalists in the ACP’s 2018 Excellence in Publishing Awards

Liguori Books Selected as Finalists in the ACP’s 2018 Excellence in Publishing Awards

This year, the Association of Catholic Publishers (ACP) has selected Liguori’s Guide for Altar Servers and Manual de los sacramentos para los católicos de hoy to be among the finalists in the 2018 Excellence in Publishing Awards.

According to the ACP, the goal of these awards is to recognize the best in Catholic publishing. The awards are for books and programs that were published in 2017. Liguori is honored that the ACP has selected two of our books as finalists out of many other outstanding titles.

Guide for Altar Servers by Michael J. Ruszala competes against three other titles in the Resources for Liturgy category, along with titles from World Library Publications and Liturgical Press.

This new, engaging booklet makes the perfect guide for any youth training for the role of altar server. Ruszala presents key terms, liturgical guidance and practical tips in a simple, friendly tone with questions, activities and images depicting vestments, sacred vessels and other key items used at Mass.

In the Spanish category, Manual de los sacramentos para los católicos de hoy by Claudio Burgaleta, SJ, competes against titles from Ave Maria Press, Twenty-Third Publications and World Library Publications.

Author of Liguori’s many popular Spanish handbooks for Catholics, Fr. Burgaleta leads readers to a deeper understanding, and consequent love, of the sacraments. This original Spanish title prepares Catholics to fulfill the main mission of the Church: to evangelize—to communicate the great gift of faith received from God in Jesus Christ.

The ACP said each category was judged by a three-person panel, which reviewed and evaluated the entries. They will announce the first, second and third place winners from each of ten categories in June 2018.

The Association of Catholic Publishers (ACP) is a membership organization of more than 40 Catholic publishers that provides opportunities for members to further the Catholic publishing industry, promote Catholic publishing and reading, and engage those they interact with, including retailers, pastoral leaders, individual customers, and staff.
