The Spirituality of Marriage

A couple’s married life is a gifted and graced journey through which husband and wife experience the power of God’s all-consuming love. They become signs of that love to the world around them.

Carol Luebering explains marriage in terms of vocation, a lifelong calling to love.

Luebering describes the spirituality of five stages of married life and ways couples can grow in love of God and each other: honeymoon (rejoice with the Creator), becoming parents (nurturing life), parenting (joys and challenges), empty-nesters (befriending God), and retirement (gathering the graces).
