Preparing for Marriage
As couples prepare themselves for marriage, they should consider feelings, values, and ideas that they cherish. William Urbine, DMin, LMFT, provides helpful suggestions for engaged couples and identifies issues that are likely to come up in the course of their lives together.
“Indeed, how couples learn to dialogue and relate around such issues is what marriage is all about, from its romantic beginnings to its difficult ending, when one or both spouses pass away,” Urbine writes. “The large group of those not married, for whatever reason, can be aware of these issues and support couples who are journeying together in a lifelong commitment of love.
