Confirmation
This Catholic Update explores the rich meaning of the sacrament of confirmation by looking at it in terms of our Christian identity. While often celebrated by adolescents who are starting to establish identities as separate and independent adults, confirmation celebrates that “one promise…will never be broken: God’s commitment to us. Confirmation is the 'seal' of God’s promise. It marks us as God’s property, a people set apart.”
The graces of this sacrament help equip our young people for the life journey ahead of them. Luebering writes, “For years to come, they will bear witness to what loving and believing people have handed on to them, all in the Spirit of God.”
