Walk With My People

Fr. Michael McAndrew, CSsR, has served for more than thirty years in Redemptorist Hispanic ministry initiatives, youth ministry, bilingual parish missions, and farmworker ministry. He was the director for Campesino Ministry in Fresno from 2009–2013 and was part of the preparation team for the Redemptorist mission in Matamoros, Mexico. Fr. Mike authored Migrant Faith (Education and Leadership Press) in 2013. Today he is an associate with the Catholic Migrant Farmworker Network.

Walk With My People: A Life in Migration Ministry gives us the opportunity to reflect upon our own path. By sharing his experiences, Padre Miguel invites us to think about the opportunities that we have to serve. Padre Miguel highlights the importance of taking advantage of each moment and space that God gives us to help the most marginalized.  Sometimes opportunities arise and we just need to take advantage of them and not let them go. Other opportunities are elusive and demand that we make a plan that will intentionally allow us to walk with our people to know their suffering and share the forgiveness and love that Jesus taught us.  The invitation to go to the forgotten communities, to live among the most in need and to share our faith in spite of the inconveniences this may bring makes this narration a valuable instrument that serves as inspiration to create our own path.  Padre Miguel’s experiences gave him the opportunity to take pleasure in great moments and build relationships that years later continue to inspire him.

Las experiencias del Padre Miguel le dieron la oportunidad de disfrutar grandes momentos y edificar relaciones que años después lo siguen inspirando.
