Twelve Days of Christmas with Thomas Merton
Thomas Merton, O.C.S.O., Trappist monk, hermit, peace activist, poet, retreat leader, and spiritual writer, was one of the most charismatic religious figures of our time. Small selections from Father Merton’s books (attributed at the end of each reflection) have been chosen to provide inspiration through the period of Advent we know as “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” beginning on Christmas Day and concluding on Epiphany. These small paragraphs show Merton as a warm and straight-forward writer who can speak plainly to his readers.
