The Trinity

Although Jesus' followers had believed in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for centuries, finding the right way to describe the Trinity was not an easy task. "The Trinity is not a mystery in the sense of being a puzzle that some genius will someday solve. Mystery in the religious sense is deepest reality, beyond anything we can experience. Vivid as our experiences are, we know there is always something ‘more,’" writes Foley, “not mathematically, but mysteriously.” He explains the relationship of the three persons of the Trinity and how believers are called to mirror that community of love.
