There Is a Season
“To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
The Church’s liturgical year adds a spiritual dimension to the natural seasons. Each Church season is revealed as an opportunity to personally experience the reality of God in our life. Advent longing is comforted by Christmas joy, and Lenten watchfulness is blessed in Easter’s renewal. Ordinary Time affirms and satisfies our need for direction in life as we experience the fulfillment of God’s promises in the proclamation of the Gospel and our daily call to holiness.
In There Is a Season, Dennis J. Billy, CSsR, draws from Scripture, poetry, and literature to reveal the spiritual significance of each liturgical time and how it affects your life and faith.
