Sacramentals

This issue of Catholic Update discusses sacramentals and the connections between spirituality and material objects that can help us grow closer to God as he touches us through the things of creation. Sacramentals are sacred signs that resemble the seven sacraments but do not convey Christ’s grace in the same way as the sacraments themselves. Instead, the spiritual benefit from sacramentals is derived primarily through the prayer of the Church, which is a participation in the prayer of Jesus Christ.
