Br. Daniel Korn, CSsR
Read More Read Less

Praying with icons, an untried experience for many in the Western Church, is a form of prayer with deep roots in the Eastern Church. Brother Daniel Korn, CSsR, introduces readers to the experience of praying with icons, explaining that “Icons are windows into the mystery of God.” He uses the most popular Marian icon, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, to guide us through the prayer experience and to point out ways the signs and symbols in the icon are to be “read.” He writes: “When we focus on sacred images within iconography, we see the mystery of salvation with new eyes of awareness as we’re called into a deeper experience of the holy.”
