Miscarriage

Loss, Grief, and Faith

Read More Read Less

After the death of a loved one, families and friends usually gather together to offer condolences and eulogize the deceased family member. Through tears and smiles the family is carried through the initial stages of grief and loss. However, in our culture, a miscarriage is often treated as a private matter, so of the grieving parents are reluctant to verbalize their pain. Well-meaning friends and family who lack first-hand experience of the grief that accompanies a miscarriage can unintentionally minimize the pain of the couple. This Catholic Update addresses the unique set of circumstances that a miscarriage presents, and the role Faith can play in helping parents heal.
