Blessed Fulton J. Sheen (1895–1979), one of the twentieth century’s best-known and loved Catholic prelates, was a lecturer, professor, philosopher, preacher, and writer. He is widely regarded as the first clerical radio and television personality, hosting the popular Life Is Worth Living TV show. A prolific writer, Archbishop Sheen authored two weekly syndicated newspaper columns that ran for nearly two decades as well as books, including The Cross and the Beatitudes: Lessons on Love and Forgiveness, Peace of Soul, and From the Angel's Blackboard: The Best of Fulton J. Sheen. He also served as director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Archbishop Sheen was beatified in September 2026.
