Lent is a prime time to consider the words of the saints and let these reflections penetrate our Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Sister Bridget Haase, OSU, has selected a quotation from a saint or holy person for each day of Lent. She writes, “In the spirit of the Sunday gospels, may these quotations spur us on in times of temptation, challenge us to transformation, increase our desire for fruitfulness, draw us more profoundly into divine loving kindness, and saturate us in mercy.
