The Witness of Saint Carlo Acutis
Colleen and Matt Swaim
Read More Read Less

Unofficially known as the patron saint of the internet, Saint Carlo Acutis is a role model for today’s teens and adolescents. An ordinary teenager of the millennial generation, he enjoyed soccer, computers, and video games, but he was also committed to Mass, confession, and prayer. He used his computer savvy to spread devotion to the Eucharist and understanding of Church teachings. He was diagnosed with leukemia and was only 15 years old when he died. He was beatified by Pope Francis on October 10, 2020 and was canonized by Pope Leo XIV on September 7, 2025.

Colleen Swaim is a teacher of religion and English in the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky, who encourages in young adults an understanding of the intense radicalism of sanctity and the dreary dullness of sin.

Matthew Swaim entered the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil of 2005, and his “zeal of conversion” brings an added excitement to his practice of the faith. Swaim is the Communications Coordinator for The Coming Home Network International, known for its weekly program, “The Journey Home” on EWTN-TV. He is the author of Eucharist and the Rosary and Prayer in the Digital Age, and the award-winning Your College Faith.
