Rev. Thomas M. Santa, CSsR
Read More Read Less

The Catholic Church teaches that after death, the body must be treated with dignity, reverence, and care, reflecting the person’s sacred worth and the hope of eternal life. This issue of Catholic Update explains the historical significance of the Church’s teachings and what is permitted today.

Catholic Traditions: This issue of Catholic Update is part of a series that reviews the many sacramentals, signs, and symbols within the Church, discusses their origin and function, and encourages greater appreciation of this treasury of riches. Essentially, Catholic Traditions reviews what we (as Catholics) do, and why we do it.
