A Primer for the Serious Spiritual Seeker

If you are searching for an overview of Christian spirituality for the beginner or non-professional, join Tom Santa in this exploration of what he calls "connecting points for contemplative living." Coming from his own Catholic tradition but including insights from other denominations and faith, Father Santa explains how these six connecting points work, separately and together, to bring us into deeper relationship with God and our fellow human beings:

  • Engaging the Divine Mystery
  • Embracing Silence and Solitude
  • Seeing the Big Picture
  • Practicing Spiritual Discipline
  • Changing Perception and Attitude
  • Redefining Abundance

Each Chapter begins with quotes from a variety of spiritual masters and contains several examples and stories of the particular connecting point from everyday life. There is also a reflection on the wisdom of Jesus, extended quotes from the Scriptures from The Message, an evocative new translation of the Bible in the contemporary language, and practical advice on everything from the best times and places to pray on how to choose and use a spiritual director.
