An Examen for Married Couples
An “examen” is the practice of prayerfully evaluating one’s thoughts, words, and actions in the light of faith, giving thanks when the day goes well and asking for forgiveness and grace when we need to do better. This Catholic Update is an examen for married couples and families, a way of evaluating and talking about one’s life together. Holiness in marriage and family requires God’s grace as well as our human cooperation. Marital health can be restored when it is lost; it can be maintained and protected when it is threatened; and it can continually grow and develop into the holiness of life that God intended.

Fr. Champagne was ordained a Catholic priest in 1994 for the Community of Jesus Crucified in Lafayette. In 2006, he earned a doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St.Thomas in Rome. Fr. Michael is involved in teaching, giving spiritual direction and ministering in various capacities to the Community of Jesus Crucified and the Diocese of Lafayette.
