Many women do a lot of soul-searching when their husbands feel called to become deacons. This book describes how forty-eight wives of deacons from varying educational levels, ages, and lifestyles came together and grew into a cohesive unit after one diocese started a diaconate-formation program. While their husbands progressed through their own period of formation these women helped form each other to accept and live their newly acquired role in the Church as Deacons' wives. Even though diaconate programs are unique to each diocese, the issues, emotions, and rewards these authors experienced will resonate with women everywhere who find themselves in similar circumstances.
