La Cuaresma - Oraciones, ayuno y ofrendas

P. Juan J. Sosa

Quick Overview

Lenten season gives us an opportunity to reflect and prepare our faith for Easter. In order to achieve this, there are several popular practices. Father Sosa's book, La Cuaresma: Oraciones, ayuno y ofrendas, walks us through these practices--prayer, fasting, and almsgiving--in a narrative way from the point of view of Manuel and his search for God during a visit to his parish during Ash Wednesday. Fr. Sosa will describe the tradition and history of the Ashes, give an insight of personal prayer and communal prayer during Lent, explain fasting and the meaning of that sacrifice, distinguish between almsgiving and stewardship, and define and explain the Tridiuum.
